Daytona Real Estate Training: 11 Google Alerts Because Of One Post- Reblogging Baby!

11 Google Alerts Because Of One Post- Reblogging Baby!

Everyday it seems there are new terms and new tools in Web 2.0.  To me I find reblogging simply smashing.

See if you really understand the concept you might think so too.

Recently I posted about Cancer Awareness month and requested it be reblogged.  I was thinking about the old stand by...you know the email that goes around the world.  Jokes, Pictures, subscriptions and Newsletters..

If you take a look at the post it has been reblogged 8 times..I've seen it on 3 blogs from outside the rain..an incredible message spread throughout the world

My subscribers read it..and so did theirs..there is probably a good chance..someone else reblogged it and they possibly do not subscribe to me at all.  Interesting right?

8 reblogs and 3 times on someone else's outside blog.  I found that profound...just like a chain letter..you never know where it ends up...does it matter..after all I get the credit..and so do you..by reblogging!

Let's talk Google Alerts-Yes I got 11 google alerts from that one particular post.  The best part was it was not all in one day..people found the post and reblogged it at their leisure and lucky me..it has been in my google alerts every day for the past 4 days.  I hate spiders but those creepy crawlers can crawl all over my words anytime....and by offering the ability to reblog...they crawl each and every time.

Now some would still argue that they do not like someone else using their work..but to possibly be found in someone else's city..or in places you never expect..your subscribers..their subscribers...in your searches in theirs and what about their google alerts..your name...their alerts...

11 Google Alerts for one post, heck I got 2 in one day!

When I think of reblogging...I think repeat, revive, relive, replenish, reprise...I could go on and on..I said it before and I will say it again...Yeah Baby...you can reblog mine anytime!

Are You Convinced Yet?

Now thats power...the power of Activerain! The great real estate industry community!

Midori,

That is awesome !  Just goes to show the power of a post and the power of Reblog !  I rememer a lot of controversy over the reblog when it came out - I never really understood the controversy.  I see the positive in it especially the way you experienced it with this !!!  That is awesome and it just goes to show you how far out ones blog or writing can go... to infinity almost !

Congrats on that ! ~ Chris

I have Google Alerts setup for my name. Unfortunately, my name is not anything unique like saaayyy.... Midori. =P  So I get a LOT of Google alerts that are usually about other Lisa Hills.

Midori, I know the potential good that reblogging can do for you. This is why I have chose to reblog at least one great post a day on my outside blog. If it is a message that I believe in or one that I think my readers on the outside world want to see, then you bet that I will spread it. I will use every resource that I have to get that great message into the hands of the readers that I have.

Oh, btw, do not be surprised when this one hits your google alerts either. And thanks for the kind mention.

Midori - I love Google Alerts and not only have alerts set up for blog, my name but all of my websites too.  It's great to see those alerts show up in my email every day.  Thanks to your post, I'll be reblogging too! :-)

Midori, I think it is a great idea, but I see less and less people unchecking the box. Why?  This should be featured so people will have a better understanding of it.

Ok off to recommend.

I haven't ventured into this reblogging arena yet and maybe it is time to give it a try.  Thank you for the gentle nudge ma'am.

Midori - reblogged 8x that alone is incredible. I really like the reblog feature, but what I have seen is that in my settings the little checkmark for reblog is not being updated.

I was happy to re-blog this post on my AR blog and one of my outside blogs as well. My rule of thumb is to give at least a 50-100 word intro to any post that I am re-blogging. And if I am reblogging the same post on more than one of my sites, I rework the intro. The intro, IMHO, allows the post to be seen as original content. I am still selective as to which of my AR post I allow to be re-blogged and which I do not. I have had some members ask to re-blog older posts that were written before the re-blog revolution and I have always accommodated the requests. Your breast cancer post is excellent and deserves all the attention it receives.

I thought that reblogging was a great idea, and when I post my articles, I always allow reblogging...but I just realized that there is a master setting in your My Home area under My Settings - so if you are hoping to be reblogged, make sure that that setting is checked as well!

Hi Everyone-as you can see there are benefits..... by just posting this today..the post I am talking about has been reblogged 3 more times on activerain and 3 more times on outside blogs.  I love seeing these google alerts filling up my email.

This is a very powerful message being spread through the blogosphere..imagine if you got your affiliates..your companies to reblog your posts...do you think you would generate business?  Yes, I do..I see the value as big as linking.

I believe it helps with SEO..it puts you in places (search engines) in other's states, cities and different professions..typically the consumer..what about a buyer thinking of relocating and you show up on a referrers blog..almost like an endorsement.

I love reblog and I thank everyone who reblogged the post!

xoxo

HI Midori, great post and especially because of the message!  I actually just had my first reblog and wasn't quite sure how to feel about it - honored, touched, violated - LOL.  Ok, actually it made me feel pretty good that someone loved my words and message enough to pass it on.  As for the google alerts - I actually got alerted through them that I was reblogged and Liz Moras shared with me yesterday that she got her google alert that I had mentioned her - so in my opinion I think I love both google alerts and reblogging.  Thanks for sharing and for spreading the great messages you do.  ~Anne Marie
