It's splattered over the net...budget cuts here and budget cuts there...caps on salaries...schools closing...Who suffers the most during these rough economic times? Our Children....
No this is not about the stimulus package..or even real estate..the fact is everyone is affected...and in many people's mind its every person for themselves...
Very Sad and a sign of the times!
Recently I read a heartwarming story.....In Maine teachers, teachers aides and janitors took a pay cut to save jobs being shy $100,000 there was a chance 7 people were laid off but as a school they would not allow it..instead many celebrated a day without pay... They worked together to save jobs and did more than what many are willing to do! Watch the full video here.
Many times greed sets in...and its every man for themselves...you're a commy..socialism gross...give me a break..its simply people caring about other people...so where is the crime?
Its a shame especially in our great country...to notice...the value of teachers and the value of children...minimized every single day! And people have to ask
What the heck is wrong with our youth?
Not enough people care..and to think..they are our future. While some would say they home school their kids...they are much more knowledgeable and do a better job...its irrelevant..not everyone has this luxury.
The public school system was put in place so each child was guaranteed an education...for the betterment of the world and our future as people. While many think nothing can be done it can start within our own backyards.
Volunteer Donate Speak up and speak out
While my children were growing up...I was involved in all of the above...I was at the school so much they offered me a job in the cafeteria. To this day I laugh...Midori Miller, the lunch lady! (I just visualize Adam Sandler) It didn't happen...my preference was to partake in my children's lives by volunteering...by donating..and I didn't hesitate to speak up or speak out!
Today is no different while my sons are old enough to fight their own battles...its the youth who really needs us to speak up and speak out! Have you really given it much thought?
They are our future...and with that said..budget cuts in schools...laying off teachers...and increasing the number of children in classrooms...I gotta tell ya...its a scary thing...because from where I am sitting...and the way many people think...I hate to admit it...
Our future looks grim!
