Today I was reading an old copy of the REALTOR magazine, the 30 under 30 edition..and one of the things that struck a cord was the fact...Activerain was named Most Innovative Media Site by Inman News in 2007.

Heck I still believe they are the most innovative site..then again...I fell in love in 2006.  This site has given me so much..

I hold the community and its members close to my heart.

I don't know...I got nosy...and ran to Alexa.com...I wanted to see how the traffic was going and I stumbled upon..some interesting info...info that made me smile..it made me feel good but it also got me nervous.

Are you looking for Midori Miller?  Well someone is!  According to Alexa,  Midori Miller is in the top 5 keywords that drive traffic to Activerain from search engines...I found this very interesting.

This would not have happened..if I did not participate on the network...if I would not have written a word about Daytona Beach Real Estate and every day life...and if I never built relationships all across the globe!

Do yourself a favor....write interesting content...key word rich content...and write as if you are talking to people..these incredible things do not happen if you have very little to say..so get blogging...pull people in...the more the merrier....because Activerain..is much more than just a real estate community...

Find Your Voice and Become A Social Media Expert!

Last week I made a decision to read more...comment less 

Now with all the talk of social media experts...when you think about it..those that are doing it and successfully are social media experts.  

What works for one may not work for another.

Bill Gassett is a social media expert to me but I could never nor would I want to follow his footsteps..its his voice...his expertise and I am truly impressed as he is the social media real estate expert for his area.

How about Lane Bailey now that branding!  Then there is Mary McKnight...WOW is all I can say...and while some might view as extreme it works for her and again...I could never pull off what she does but for her it works very well and I admit I find her truly entertaining.

Think about TLW now she has it down to a science...no I can't see myself being the prankster that she is or how about Jeff Turner .....heck even Demi Moore (one of my personal favorites) the list goes on and on. 

Each and every person is an individual...and clearly with social media its each persons voice...and their voice determines the level of expertise based on the results that they are looking for AND results that they obtain.  

Recently one of the Wright Brothers were featured on the main dashboard...the post was amazing but what I got out of just reading one post lead me to many places. 

As I watched a presentation...I was really enthralled...it wasn't mere words...but what I have been thinking and feeling lately and in truth has caused a shift in the way that I think..the exciting part..I wanted more...I continued to watch every video they had. 

If you really want a clear picture of social media at it's finest watch the video below!  Please don't tell you don't have the time...because in the long run you might have a better understanding of what social media is all about.

And remember you must find your voice and then do what social media experts do....more than likely they do what many others do but add a personal touch..and with their own flava and manage to be true to themselves but the common factor with these social media experts they do it their way!

For The Opinionated-Blogging Comes in All Forms!

I read an interesting post yesterday about  Getting away from our roots on Activerain..(members only) ..opinions seem to vary.  Nothing new right, but I often wonder when people are posting are they simply posting for the people of network or for the world wide web?

I admit I post for the web...because the web is much larger than Activerain..don't get me wrong..I write to the network and about the network and with a very good reason,,, because I want to reach out and grab like minds and build my own communities on Activerain and within my own blogs...websites and the rest of my social networks

With video...with photo's with memes or anything else that might help to break the ice and get communication going, the early stages of relationship building.

One thing I believe it's my job to pull readers in... with interesting content..and not necessarily content many Activerainers believe!  Good content brings readers in and it doesn't necessarily have to be in the form you or I think is correct..its the world wide web!

It's the same thing with SEO..my focus is on good content...consistent content.... content that will pull readers in and keep them reading.  You might not be interested in my feelings about Empty Nest Syndrome..but many outsiders are...outside of Activerain and I achieved my goal I brought the readers to me.

In this day of transparency...and times when we can google anything..provide useful information or a beautiful photo...readers want it..and they are not all the same..like minds will come back and come back for more. 

And who knows maybe that mom who is suffering today may sell her very large home and purchase an inexpensive condo on the Worlds Most Famous Beach! 

I've heard of stranger things...

If you believe in your heart..that the only thing google appreciates and utilizes is real estate content in the shape of words or that consumers want to read real estate FAQ's..and our fellow REALTORS base referral business on real estate writings.. I totally disagree!

Just take a look at the google image search bar and notice...Life Magazine photo's are available on line..and then there is the google labeler..and then type in your name!  

Just like flash or html.. video and photo's,  they all serve their purpose.

Meme's let your readers see who you are and photo's without words can really say more than an average post..if the image is good !

This will be forever a debate..but the reality is blogging comes in all forms and different things appeal to everyone!  

If you post what you like...what you are passionate about...the real estate will follow..because YOU pulled readers in!  Readers can become friends which can become referrals which can produce income!  

I did several memes....and posted a true Wordless Wednesday, I sometime add flash and post about very personal things... regardless of what some members think or state...one of my readers is about to close on a property with me very soon.

I don't know,  Do I do this blogging thing right according to experts?  Not sure

I imagine the opinionated has an opinion...does it matter?  Maybe not, my customers reassure me I am doing something right!
